Good to have your company, Siddardha. I think you're asking a lot to expect your Kindle to last five or six years without problems. The device hasn't been around anywhere near that long, so there's no way users could advise you that they might have that kind of active lifespan. I guess you could opt for some kind of extended guarantee, but it's likely to cost more than it's worth. The price of ebook readers in general is sure to drop dramatically over the coming years so that it would be cheaper just to buy a new one. Good luck and best wishes. Neil
