A Bridge Too Far Gone
Think of familiar phrases or titles and bridge them together in unexpected ways using Punnification, Apposition, Tropes, Nonsensical Linguistics, and other devices. Examples:
Coke Zero: Dark and Dirty
Zero Dark Thirty Something
Drive, He Said, She Said
Or change one word inside or at the end of a title to give it a "new" (possibly funnier) meaning. Clever appropriations of titles already in use include, In the Realm of the Senseless. Rage Against the Coffee Machine is a well known rant. Love in the Time of Diarrhea is a twist on Love in the Time of Cholera. Certainly, I can relate to that. Lol. I leave it to followers of William Safire, to determine the origin/history of phrases and their modifications.
