I'm less than a quarter of the way through #3, so can't really comment on that. But from what you infer, Recht did not write the whole book? Some Google research is in order for me, I think...
EDIT: Oh wow! He died at just 26 years old! I had no idea. What a shame, as who knows in what directions his writing might have gone in later years?
