I thought they felt like they weighed the same but I agree the black 'felt' better. After using it for two days I am really impressed. I don't have to face close to my lamp in bed to read and the page turning seems smoother. I struggled to not drop the previous one when I tried to read and turn with one hand.
I am also impressed with customer service. Mine shipped a day late and so they bumped it up to a faster shipping method than I had paid for at no cost. I was to get it in 7 business days and I got it in less than 24 hours.
I feel like my reading experience cannot be improved now. :-)
