I am new to the entire concept of Recipes in Calibre so please bear with me if I am asking the wrong questions.

I have added custom Recipes for several of my favorite news feeds with no problems, but I cannot seem to understand how to add a feed that requires a username and a password?

There appears to be a number of sources for custom templates for recipes but I have not yet figured out how to use them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
