Holdsworth, Ethel: Helen of Four Gates. v1. 30 May 2010

Ethel Holdsworth (AKA Ethel Carnie or Ethel Carnie Holdsworth) was a British writer and social reformer. She was born and brought up in Lancashire mill towns and her novel, "Helen of Four Gates", published under the pseudonym "An Ex-Mill Girl", makes extensive use of the Lancashire dialect (which can make proof-reading a tricky task). For more information on Ethel see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethel_Carnie_Holdsworth .

This version is based on the Internet Archive copy originally published in 1917 in the USA. The OCR's scans have been proofread and compared with the original image copy and corrected to create what was originally a fb2 Ebook for my personal use. This copy was derived from the fb2 version as it appears that format is not popular.
