Question Pocketbook 622 Touch USB Connection

I own a Pocketbook 622 Touch with the latest Firmware and software. It works fine but the PC connection via USB gives me a little trouble: I have to connect it twice for being recognized by the PC.

PC has Windows XP SP3, Core2Quad, 3 GB RAM and so on, it is just fine, I think.

It does not matter which USB port on the PC I am using (Version 1 or 2), it is every time the same:
I connect the Reader, which is switched off, to the USB. It turns on, nothing more. No window where I can choose to make connection or charge batteries. The PC does not recognize it via USB.

Then I disconnect the Reader (still switched on, but it does not matter) and connect it a second time on the same USB port or another (it does not matter) and now the window pops up to lets me choose the type of connection to the PC and the device(s) show up in the list of USB devices.

Is this a normal behaviour of the Reader? Is there something going on with my USB ports?

Maybe someone else has a similar problem and an answer!?

Ralf.
