All international Kindles
except those shipped to Australia came with a charger.
You can't ship devices, at least not in bulk quantities, that have foreign power connectors into Australia. This is why we didn't get mains chargers, not the voltage or some other reason as some are erroneously suggesting.
If you have a US Kindle charger here it will work fine with an adapter.
