Amazon won't kill DRM on their books until the publishers accept that option, no matter how much pressure is applied by advocacy groups or even authors. I hope that day will come, but it definitely won't be any time soon. (Same goes for Sony, I might add, whom the campaign ignores for some reason.)
And personally, I wouldn't pay much attention to Richard Stallman or campaigns by the Free Software Foundation, but that's just me....
