I am a big fan of the "first few chapters free" method of selling ebooks as at least then you have a chance to see if it grabs you but yes each to their own with what books they like. As to free ebooks it would actually be nice if people did always leave a comment or rating for the book so others would know but usually people only leave comments if they liked the book but even then not everybody does.
