I think that famous xkcd comic about standards is pretty applicable here. So it's better for all to leave it as-is.

Even amazon does not follow their own standards. For example, the built-in image viewer for K4 and earlier looks for images (and zip files containing images) in
/mnt/us/documents, but on the K5 they changed the image viewer to look for images (and zip files containing images) in
/mnt/us/images.
