I disagree. From what I've been reading here, Kobo has been very quick to exchange units for pretty much any reason. It seems they're trying hard to capture market share from the entrenched Amazon and Sony readers. So if you do what Bismar suggested, and explain to them you did not drop it or bend it, or do anything that would make this your fault, you should be ok.
