The publisher may allow it, but apparently Amazon can't cope with it, the way their system is currently designed (unless, of course, you return the book for a refund, then buy again at the current price; ridiculous that CS can't just automate that process with a single click at their end, even if they won't let us do so).

Those of us who bought from other companies should be able to get the fixed version by a re-download, as I know of no other company that maintains a database of old versions and tracks which one you purchased so they can lock you into it forever.

Has Amazon themselves issued a statement that you'll be able to get an updated version? Or just the publisher?
