Simplereader V0.13 released

We got to give props to Andrew Jennings who is devoted to breathing some new life into the Sony Librie. With his tool Simplereader you can read regular text files without the need to convert them to BBeB first. Although there is no table-of-contents, bookmarking, or multi-page-jump functionality in Simplereader yet, it's worth a look - especially since it's free and open-source.

New features in version 0.13:
  • Font size can be configured in the fonts.conf file.
  • Support for subdirectories in the "textfiles" directory. (If you put an entire book in a subdirectory with each chapter in a separate file, then this can serve as a simple table of contents.)
  • The menu for the main directory or any subdirectory can be customized by creating a "DIR" file in that directory. (Thus you can put Unicode characters in the menu and you can control the order of the files as well.)
You can download the latest version of Simplereader from Andrew's home page.
