Auto Merge Watch Folder?

Hi,

I have figured out how to set a watch folder so that Calibre will automatically add any file that shows up there into the library. And I have figured out how to set Calibre to auto-merge identical books with a different format into the same entry. (yay me!)

However, it seems that if I try and combine the two...have Calibre automatically add files that show up in a folder AND merge any duplicates...it doesn't seem to work. It just adds the two separate files.

Is there a special setting or something I'm doing wrong??

Background:
I have Calibre running on a file server at my home. When I have finished creating a book - if I'm not at home - I add it to my dropbox folder on my laptop. It automatically syncs to my fileserver at home. Calibre notices the new file (the watch folder is my dropbox folder) and adds it to the library...then deletes it from the folder...which removes it from my dropbox account and my folder on my laptop. Now I and my family can access the book from our device via the internet!
