US$ 799 would be too much for me.
Make it $499, we're getting closer to the picture.
(Right now I'm considering whether to look at a used Kindle DX or a Boox M92 to satisfy my pent-up upgrade lust)

But I agree, most likely not enough people wanted the Kindle DX to make it viable in the long term.
