To tell you the truth I verified all buttons from the home page - and they all where working properly. Currently the only computer I have access to is iMac in my hotel room...
For #2 - some applications indeed have a problem with properly using Android color theme, usually there is very little I could do about it. For a very long time Android did not have a proper UI guidelines - so there are many apps which set colors in the code or are using colors from default white on black theme. If this is a legitimate app - contacting authors and explaining what is going on may help.
