I used to work with a man who has since retired and I have not seen him again since, he used to keep a a sign on the wall of his office that was called the Pearls of Wisdom where he listed them out, these are metaphors not to be taken litteraly:

Never walk into a lions den with a pork suit on.
Don't try to push a car up a hill with a rope.
