Pretty sure not, but better to have a backup.
Lots of ways to do this, but if you install calibre, hook up T2, you can copy the books on the device to the calibre library.
I won't go into detail as you may not want to use calibre.
There is no defined master/slave relationship.
Neither the Sony software or calibre will delete the books unless you instruct them to do so.
