The software on a "real" Kindle is now inferior to a reading app like Marvin on iOS, so that's no excuse.
Besides, I've always found it to be a counter-productive strategy to intentionally annoy your customer with product A, hoping that will inspire you to buy product B from the same vendor. It just doesn't work.
