It has nothing to do with reading comprehension, nor with "geeks" not understanding people. Most of us can read perfectly well and understand people perfectly well. It's just that the content and tone of the message often determines the response to the message.
This. I was going to post earlier about how to fix the problem but the tone of the OP was a little off putting.

I am happy for her that she got it fixed though. I love my ereaders and gadgets and it's upsetting when things go wrong.
