for me the japanese part works as-is - but nickel
needs to be down.
I went a step further and also shut down the whole wifi interface again after I donīt use it anymore.

My setup is based on an hourly cron job (during the day) with
- starts Wifi
- call an image generator php-script on my NAS
- downloades the ready-converted raw.gz
- shutdown wifi
The battery is now up for almost 1 week already - I still need to do a precise runtime measurement.
I am using this to read various temperature sensors in the house + a forecast from wunderground.com
