I have literally hundreds of Audible books tied to an account that no longer has a membership. I can (and do) activate them and listen to them on new computers and on my cell phone whenever I want to re-read them. It's NOT an issue.

(and while I have liberated them, I still prefer to listen to them in their non-MP3 format, because the Audible app is a better experience in lots of little, but important to me, ways. )
