There was, IIRC, a device that came pre-loaded with the Bible. This was pre-ebook and (again, IIRC) it was similar to the electronic spellers & thesaurus's (thesauri?) that were available around that same time. Basically, you didn't read the Bible on it-you used it to look up quotes.
