If I understand your question, Android is not Windows, and you can't have multiple apps on the screen at the same time; and even if you could there just isn't enough room on the screen.

But you can long press the menu button and have up to six recently viewed apps available, in the same state they were in when you switched away from them, e.g. the same web page or the same note open.

So the answer is yes... sort of.
