I also wear multifocal glasses, and I have found that while they are good in theory, in practice they can be difficult. Therefore, I always get a couple pairs of reading glasses when I get my multifocals. That way, I have a pair at work which stay there and a pair here at home by my pc.
Since I spend hours a day at the pc, both at work and at home reading, it is simply easier for me to put on my readers for both the pc & reading.
The only time I use my multifocals for reading is when I'm traveling between home and work.
Needless to say I spend a small fortune every couple of years updating my glasses.
