My guess is that its from a common name gracing the banner out front of every other small town used book store across America: The Book Nook

You know the place, it has shelves overflowing with used paperbacks, a smattering of hardbacks, bundle-string packages of National Geographics and Life magazines, narrow aisles from stacks of books that just wouldn't fit on a shelf, and usually a small cat or dog that might belong to the owner.

I was goin to enter my suggestion as "The Booker". But then I went through the possible derivations, and it doesn't seem fitting after all. It would mean someone very pleased with this new device could be smeared as "The Happy Booker" and that doesn't seem right.
