You don't, unless you want to read books containing Cyrillic letters. Reader Library simply has to have the same font as the reader, for splitting book into pages (pre-formatting) to work correctly.
In case of letters included in the standard fonts, it works out of the box, no need to change anything in the Reader Library.

Also, this only applies to LRF files, you can use EPUB without modifying the fonts event if you're going to read Cyrillic.
