As JSWolf says, MobiPocket Creator and mobigen.exe import a limited subset of HTML+CSS and produce a highly simplified HTML for the MOBI file. A better place to look for examples would be an ePub ebook. These can be "exploded" by renaming the .epub to .zip and unzipping. Another possiblity is
