Xochitl is pronounced Zo-shee or Zo-chee. It's a not too uncommon Hispanic name for girls and comes from Nahuatl (the language of the Aztecs), though they probably pronounced the tl. I give a pronunciation clue in the story when she is first introduced.

While I was plotting out the story, I met two women named Xochitl, they both pronounced it slightly different-- with more or less ch.

BTW, it means "flower" in Nahuatl.
