I would not say that you could get a "guarantee" of a good conversion. Having said that MSReader (LIT) and Epub should both convert well. Note that you have to have any DRM removed (if originally present) before books can be converted.

Mobi and PRC are effectively the same format. Normally mobi is now used as the extension for Kindle books.
