In an ideal world, electronics manufacturers would be electronics manufacturers, publishers would be publishers and retailers would be retailers. Ereader-Wars show us that some companies want to be all three. It's like they sell us a car, then tell us where we must buy gas, where we can park and block many roads we want to travel.
