Some of my favorite reads this year have been under $3-free.
I have so far read 2 of the 5 books in Shayne Parkinson's "Promises to Keep" series, also enjoyed a couple of books I bought for under $2 from Carina Press.

I don't think price really is an accurate indicator of whether the content is a keeper. I've paid over $10 for books I wound up wishing I had not spent the money on.
