Is there a way to disable the dictionary automatic lookup when you highlight a word/sentence ?

I use it to read scientific articles, and it takes forever, not to mention that sometimes the dictionary "pop up" covers some of the text making it impossible to highlight the rest of the sentence.

I would have used the drawing option, but that doesn't work on cropped and divided pages....

I don't mind "hacking" some of the files (I've added the recently viewed as default), but I'd rather not root it...

any suggestions are welcome.
