the kindle Fire has a USB port and will mount on your PC or Mac like any USB device

00%of my apps are sideloaded android apps I dont use amazon's ecosystem for anything these days.
I use Comic reader mobi and perfect viewer to read my existing comics in .CBR format.
I use Alkido pro for my novels and sometime Cool reader.
