As you say, it isn't hard to make mobidedrm and ereader2html easier to use, the problem is the DMCA in the US, and similar laws in other places, makes in unlawful to do so. Posting such software to a web site (any public web site) is definitely illegal in the US, and would open you up to potential prosecution if you ever touch down in the US (even if you are on a plane to somewhere else).
