Hi Tobias,
as your changes are fixing the appearance of mobipocket (kindle) output, I think they don't belong on the input side (the recipe) but in the epub to mobipocket conversion (though I have no idea if and how these changes can be included there).
My preference is to retrieve the existing epub without any modifications.
