I recently put a in a ticket for this problem in OSX. When Calibre is on and the reader is plugged in Calibre does not see the reader. I have to stop and restart Calibre for it to see it. I thought to mention that I renamed the reader "EREADER" and the card "EREADERCARD" to easily tell it appart when it comes up on the screen. Don't know if this is a factor.
