We use a similar procedure as you do, but I was not aware of this. We don't yet have an iPad for testing. Does it croak on embedded fonts, or does it just ignore them?

I've been ill for a couple of days. I'm back at work now though, and I have permission to distribute the guide. I'll try to do it later this evening, or at least as soon as I can. I'll publish it in this thread when it's ready.
