This new lighted display would have the worst of the two worlds. Why dont buy a tablet instead?

Well, check out some videos of the nook with glow light (or whatever it's called) and you'll see What it's about. Could indeed be helpful to be able to read at night, as long as the contrast of the e-ink screen isn't too negatively impacted.
