Nevermind...
Gatekeeper would not let me open it initially because it said it is from an "unknown developer." (I assumed the window that popped up on launch was the initial "files downloaded from the internet may harm your computer" thing. I need to read more closely.
)
Never had this warning before though...
If anyone else encounters this, all you have to do is right click on the KCC icon and select >Open. A window will pop up and ask you to confirm that you want to launch the program.
Anyways, thanks again. And sorry to trouble you guys with my mistake.
