2GB should be enough to store books on for just about any trip you're planning to make.
1GB is not.
2GB however, is not good enough to store ALL your books in.

I did read something about wifi, is it possible to directly stream files to and from my kindle PW? (meaning, can I access it's internal memory from a laptop, and delete/update/move files?)
