16:10 is normal for larger-resolution Android tablets (7-10"). You don't see many 1280x720 tabs, after all - most are 1280x800 (with the 1024x600 being oddballs stuck between 16:9 [578.53] and 16:10 [640], while the 800x ones are even weirder at 800x480 & 800x400).
