As I have seen no mention of it here, you may be interested in the free version of the HSCB (Holman Standard Christian Bible) which, in its basic text form, is available for free from Amazon <www.amazon.com/The-Holy-Bible-Digital-ebook/dp/B0045U9UE> and also from other providers for other readers.
It is a more recent translation than the NIV, and is said by the specialists to be both closer to the texts, and easy to read, than the NIV.
