They have different weight.
They have slightly different design.
Samsung's has the best screen and is smallest/thinnest tablet on the market (not limited to Android)
Sony's has IR transmitter and can serve as universal remote.
Sony's also has the most ergonomic shape (this comes from Galaxy Tab 10.1 owner)
Some have 3G, some don't.
They have different price.

Strange question. Do you mean manufacturers? They benefit from jumping on the android bandwagon, not having to pay for an OS that sells damn well.
