Ditch that
beta Kaspersky if it will not accept a white-list at your approval.
Calibre does 'phone home' on start and makes no secret about it.

Unless you use the content-server or a plugin (includes the Updater plugin) that connects to a browser, AFAIK Calibre does NOT access/affect web pages.
