What happens if I "Reset to Factory Defaults" when I have a rooted nook?

I want to give one of my nooks to my son and I basically want to clear out all the page settings and get it back to default settings, but keep the softrooting, so I was wondering if this might do the trick or if I will brick it. The biggest problem is that nook remembers the last page number even if books are removed.

Thanks
