This is interesting from another forum:

"...ordered online from amazon.com (International Orders). The DHL label says shipped from Amazon Export Sales in Lexington, Kentucky but when I traced from the Amazon page and also the DHL page it was shipped from Shenzhen, China within a few hours of submitting the order. I assume that is where the kindle factory is?"
