ah... I just saw that you said "a *subset* of xhtml." That makes a lot more sense regarding my concerns of ease of parsing. I'm reading the wiki now and it also explains this point. Thanks.

I guess I should try to make epub my storage format... I'm still not sure how I get there using convertLIT though or whatever other software for the other formats...

Is there some kind of epub validator program? I mean, ... it sounds like I can just run convertLIT and zip the directory and rename the zip file .epub, and thus have an epub file? but I"m not sure if I'm supposed to add other files or something too? ...and I'm assuming that if I do it wrong, .. the file will still open just fine in the programs that read epub files just because they're probably written somewhat flexibly. So, is there a way to make sure I've done it correctly? Or command-line conversion programs that actually create complete/correct .epub files?
