Yeah, I realised that
here. I didn't know before that. Thus my conclusion - pre-build Linaro not compatible with Kindle 3. NiLuJe built his Linaro against glibc 2.9 (according to his x-compile.sh). That's why it works for him. (Usual disclaimer: Noob opinion, possibly wrong, etc, etc...)
